Lois Jones Fowler

Lois Jones Fowler

Lois Jones Fowler, 88, transitioned unto the Lord peacefully at her home in Savannah Monday, September 23rd, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born April 25th, 1936 in Milan, Georgia and she was one of eight children born to the parents of the late Levi and Claudia Jones, and preceded in death by her husband, Thearin “Pete” Fowler.

In October 1950, she married her husband, Thearin “Pete” Fowler. In 1963, they opened Pete’s Exxon Service Station in Savannah, on the corner of Waters Ave. and Stephenson Ave. for 23 years. Lois was a bookkeeper for the service station until her husband’s, “Pete” passing in 1986. She was also a bookkeeper for Brown’s Chevron and Tony Shurling until she retired. Lois was a member of South Gardens Baptist Church in Savannah for many years where she sang in the choir and was a long-term Sunday school teacher. 

She was proceeded in death by her husband Pete Fowler, her parents Levi and Claudia Jones and 7 of her siblings. She is survived by her sons Doyle Lamar Fowler, Gary Michael Fowler, daughter in law Debra Fowler, 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00, Wednesday, October 9th. at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery
